HUNTINGDON VALLEY RESOURCE GUIDE
Home repair resources:
Huntingdon Valley.
Huntingdon Valley is a village and a mailing address, not a municipality. It covers parts of Lower Moreland, Upper Moreland, and Abington townships in Montgomery County, plus small sections of Upper and Lower Southampton in Bucks County. Each has its own permit office.
A LITTLE LOCAL PREPARATION
Find the right information
for your property.
Most of it is Lower Moreland Township
Lower Moreland’s building page says permits are needed for most general construction, plumbing, and electrical projects, and for items like fences, sheds, driveway aprons, and larger pools. It lists painting, re-shingling a roof, cabinets and countertops, siding, and replacing (not moving) plumbing fixtures as not needing a permit. Water heaters are the exception and do need one.
Who can pull a plumbing permit
Lower Moreland says it does not license contractors or make recommendations. It does register plumbers, and a plumbing permit there must be pulled by a registered master plumber.
Abington and Upper Moreland run their own portals
Abington Township and Upper Moreland Township each publish their own permitting pages with online application portals. If your Huntingdon Valley address is in one of them, Lower Moreland’s rules do not apply.
